I always tell my people when they want to get clean to be prepared for SOME misery. But sleep patterns vary from person to person and are the last thing to return to normal. The best thing you can do is follow a schedule. Get up at the same time every morning and to the best of your ability put in a full day of activity....even if it is only doing things around your home. Eat regularly scheduled meals, rest periodically but don't lay down during the day for long periods. Exercise is a HUGE help. You want to set yourself up for a good nights sleep. Once you have followed a good routine for a while your sleep cycles will start to return. If necessary, get your doctor to prescribe something like trazadone, an anti-depressant with sleep inducing properties. I have detoxed from Methadone more times than I care to remember and YES, there is an end in sight. You may have to resort to a prescribed sleep aid and other meds to get you through this. The key is being honest with your doctor and yourself. The thing is you do not want to return to the methadone. I commend you on the success you've had so far because that is perhaps the nastiest drug to come off of. You have to make your body produce the endorphines it is missing. Physical activity is the best route. Hang in there!!!

Highguy, I would start a thread of your own, you'll get much more exposure to peeps who can help you. There are several on here with experience coming off of meth.
I'm goin on day 28 cold turkey from methadone..I was at 100 mgs an have been on it for 7 years..it's been rough but is there an end in site
I'm not sure what day you're on in withdrawal but sleep will return soon. It sounds like right now you'll only catch some sleep here and there in bits and pieces. What I think you should do right now is soak in a tub of hot water and Epsom if you have some. Make it as hot as u can stand it. Soak as long as you can stand it. This will calm things down. What I did was sleep in a recliner in front of the TV. Don't fight it. Don't expect normal for awhile. Go with what's going on. Your body is purging the drugs. Your extremities like arms and legs will get restless. There is less blood supply in those parts and they are the last parts to detox I read somewhere. So expect that for awhile. It WILL get better. Just hold on. You will get your life back! It's a great choice you've made. Sooner is better than later. Longer you wait to go thru this the worse it is. Good luck tonight my friend. See you tomorrow. Post again.
Sleep is one of the last things to return, sadly. Have you tried melatonin? It worked for me and many others. I've also heard of alot of people using ALTERIL... I haven't used it personally but its an otc sleep aid that alot of people swear by...
