Lol, I agree! Uncle Ben's is great. Glad to hear from you. Just took my second hot shower of the day. Neck is really tight today. I saw a glimpse of Foxy Daddy this morning. Foxy Lady wasn't with him. I am laying upstairs with the windows raised listening to the waterfall. Poor hubby, I usually watch the games with him as I usually really enjoy March Madness but my bracket is dead and I feel really yucky today. He has been very sweet though. Warmed me some soup. I hope you get to relax today and feel better. Blessings and peace,

Minn

A thought just occurred to me......i inacurately gave the white man credit for the rice.......after some comptemplation.....the thanks first goes to Wakan Tanka for the rice......Uncle Ben was a Black Man.....so thanks to the White Man for the microwave.........also been eating bananas....guess we all know where the thanks goes there.......lol.......

Good to have my sense of humour returning.......peace.....

I think the japanese actually invented the microwave when they were working on some sort of death ray for the war effort.Rice is good and good for you.I once ate nothing but beans and rice for like 6 months.lol  I think I never felt better.

Hi, Mark, you are adorable! Being thankful for instant rice is the true meaning of humble!  ;-)
We're having such a gorgeous spring here in Alabama-- it's a full three weeks early this year due to such a warm winter. The pink and white dogwoods are blooming, hot pink azaleas going crazy, pale purple wisteria hanging like bunches of grapes--the whole city smells good enough to eat! And part of why I'm enjoying just being outside to look at everything is because of you. Your nice nature posts have opened my eyes to the beauty of the outdoors again. I've been indoors for almost four years now due to caring for my mother in the home until she passed away, and then just not going outside even though I could. My doctor did bloodwork last month, and I had an unbelievably low blood level of vitamin D---normal is 45 to 90+---and my level is 5. Five! Because I've been homebound for four years. My skin is so white that it almost phosphoresces--I can't even take 5 minutes of sun without it stinging and reddening. But I'm going out a little each day anyway because you made it sound so nice. And taking 50,000 units of vitamin D2 each week! Thanks again for your thoughtful and uplifting posts, Mark.---Margaret  xox

Credit the White Man with ???? Electricity????  Maybe the harnessing of electricity........Humility is the hardest of the 4 Virtues of the Lakota....the other three are Generousity...Perseverence.....and Wisdom.........thank you for the lesson in humility......(head hangs in silence...)   dok sha kola....

The microwave was invented by an American engineer named Percy Spencer who worked for a commercial electronics company called Raytheon.  To my knowledge no "death rays" were ever involved.  :)

I have read this about percy spencer and the raytheon company. As I said
I was not sure if japan had invented or discovered it.They did however attempt to create a death ray using microwave technology. It failed miserably because it had to be within a few yards away from someone to even do minimal damage to them. They continued to focus their efforts on the death ray, meanwhile we developed and employed the atom bomb. The war may have turned out differently if japan had focused their efforts on the development of the atom bomb as opposed to the death ray.

Good point Rick..As some one who lives very close to Los Alamos, ergo all their history, this commentary is interesting. However, that is all I can say...

I do credit the native Americans with winning the war though...no one could beet the code talkers!!
