Day 6 thought I would feel better

Hi group,
Having a couple of rough days here, and really frustrated !
10 weeks ago having gone thru the horrendous detox cold turkey from 150mg fentynal patches, which i was on for 5 years, was beginning to feel better the last 3 weeks until I went off Vicodine 6 days ago. On very low doses 5/325's twice a day.
Even tho I knew what exspect, flu symptoms, stomach issues, being cold, and the wonderful sleepless night sweats.
Today a Beatuful 84 degree day, my symptoms and pains seem to be worse rather than better.
I can't breathe outside and freezing inside.
Trying not to sleep during the day, because the insomnia is back and waking up at 4 and 5am just begging for the sun to come up.
Altho I'm doing 1 to 2 meetings a day. Not feeling it today.
I don't want to use, but getting sick of feeling like this. I've been down the detox road several times, nothing like this tho.
I thought this part would be easy compared to the fentynal withdrawl, and would have only lasted 5 to 7 days due to such low doses, my body is screaming for relief.
The pain is incredible today, which dropped off conciderably before I stopped the Vicodine.
Just really frustrated today.
Going to go for a ride and hit a meeting an hour away, a good radio station, out in the warmth should get me thru the afternoon.
Just wanted to share for others struggling. Move a muscle, change a thought.
Today is just a bad day, tomorrow well it's not here yet.
Lets all just hang in there xoxoxo

My hubby just got off of oxycodone and is now taking a different medicine so he can get off the Fentanyl.  Because of his health issues he is not allowed to CT.  We were told that the last few weeks would be the worst for him...that they could wean him down pretty far but because of the long life of the Fentanyl and the strength of it they are unable to make it completely without some symptoms.  Right now they are planning on getting him down to about 5 mg of morphine and then stop him at that point, they will give him some extra meds for his heart, etc for the last couple of weeks and I'll have to monitor his vitals very closely during that time.

I suspect the same type of thing is happening to you.  Vicodin affects a bit different part of the brain then Fentanyl does (or so they told me) so you are getting kind of a rebound effect.  I'm hopeful that the doctors know what they are talking about and that it only last 7 to 10 days and that the symptoms should not be as severe as they would be if you went
CT.

If your symptoms are severely worse then I would suggest you talk to your doctor and make sure everything is going as it should go;...just to be safe.

Better days are coming! You have accomplished so much already.  Take it slow, things will be alright. All you need is just a little patience. Each day will be a little better than the last, with lots of highs and lows along the way. Its going to get much better soon.

I would have to concur with Jugglin-
Totally think it's the tail end of the withdrawal because the vicoden.  Our bodies and brains don't start to truly heal until we have ALL the drugs out of our systems.  Also, it's pretty normal to have a return of certain symptoms for a day or so.  I remember 3 weeks after detox I suddenly started to do the whole sneezy, creepy crawly skin thing for a day or so.  It wasn't as bad as full blown withdrawal, but it was still annoying.  I was like "Oh come on now, really???"
Maybe it's good to have these little reminders about just how horrible detox is so that we have the extra gumption not to use.
Going to a meeting is good.
Fresh air and sunshine are good.
Just as you said, sometimes just a little shift makes all the difference in the world.
You are doing great!

Hi there! I think maybe the fentanyl wd's were postponed a bit by the vicodin?  Now that the vicodin is gone the physical WD's are intensified.  I am guessing here. BUT, you are a very, very strong person to have come this far.  I know this $ucks...but you can get thru this...you have already proven your will and your strength.  You have come a LLLOOONNNGGG way and there is a light at the end of your tunnel.  I promise you this.

God bless u for getting to a meeting and continuing your battle that you are WINNING.  Your positive spirit is remarkable and will take you through to the other side.

Prayers and hugs out to you.  God bless!
