Ive been on methadone for over 6 year highest was 85 mg and over the last 4 years ive detoxed slowly down to 4 mg a day and i feel good with 4 mg but ready to stop altogether . I went 4 days without it cause im so done with going to a clinic but by the 3 rd day i was sick and the 4 th day was to much i took my 4 mg dose that day and still felt like crap after taking it im back taking 4 mg a day. 4 days a week i don't take my dose on the other days ( i skip my dose) my question is what am i doing wrong to come off this crap
I was on methadone for about 9 years. At the height I was on 200 mgs.
per day. You need to taper down to 20 to 30 mgs per day, then stop
the methadone. Use another narcotic to help with the withdrawals. I used
oxycodone. After 72 hours of no methadone whatever narcotic you use
should control the withdrawal symptoms. I haven't had any methadone
for 28 days. I was never sick after the first 2 days. During this entire
period I never missed a day of work. I am now starting to taper off of
the oxycodone. This really worked for me.
