thanks guys, ive been watching American Idol, I never really have watched it but its making me laugh so I figure why not. And I just happened to see a girl on there who is a recovering addict so that gave me some hope too. Now if this damn RLS would just stop bothering me :)
Stay busy and keep up the great work. You can do this. Put on some music and dance around like a crazy person. Or sort through that old box of clutter that's hidden away in the closet or organize your pictures into photo albums. The puzzles are a great idea as mentioned above.
I also found that melatonin helps me sleep at night.
Keep posting and feel better.
Do you exercise at all? Think about running, it only takes a pair of good shoes and some shorts. It changed my life completely, both mentally and physically - for the better. Your surrounded by healthy, happy people who share that common interest. There are organized events everywhere that are a lot of fun, with no pressure. No one cares how well you run, just that you do. I have to warn you , it's addictive.
Good job you sound better than I did. Been off since dec 6th and not to worry you but I still have a few symptons. But this sight has really helped and since I'm a guy I don't much suggestions to help keep you occuppied. Its hard for me too but my 2 little kids help me keep occupied. I need a babysitter..lol if you need something to do. Not sure where you live but the weather is cold here so it is hard to find something to do now. But when I do get bored I just come on here sometimes. Nice friends though their all alike. Since I got off thier are a few people a work that don't talk to me as much because they can't borrow anything (vics) anymore.
I am glad you made it through last night and that you are doing better now. The amino acids listed are to help with mood too, so it would be good to find which ones will help you. Keep hanging in there. It seems like a long time , but it will be over very soon.
Thanks :) Yeah I do think I read that, hard to keep up with it all haha. I cant wait to get through these next few days and get back to things that REALLY made me happy. thanks for all the support, very helpful and I dont have much of it since my mom is the only person that really knows whats going on.
hey i didnt know if you read what i posted on your relapse post so here it is again lol
youll beat your addiction just keep trying, some people can do it quickly while others it takes longer, pills may seem to make you happy, but really they take you up just so you can fall down, over and over again, ive spent countless $'s and hours chasing these pills down, for what just so i can get a false sense of happiness, once you can finally quit and get through the 1st few days of withdrawals happiness will come back to you, for one when your know your accomplishing this your self-esteem will be better and when you turn down pills or spend your money on something else your self-confidence and self-worth will be better, there are alot of people on this site battling addiction just keep posting and we will all support you the best we can, good luck, keep trying, its so much easier when you can start worrying bout important things in your life and get pills off the top of list, hope this was helpful in someway
have a good day!!
I wish I had that option but I dont have a gym membership anymore. I have gym stuff here so Im hopeing to get on that soon!!
thanks...i cant wait to get to day 5. It seems to far away.
Go to a gym. It really helps to put yourself around people like that. When I did drugs i was always around drug users. When I am clean and happy i am around clean and happy people.
That's great you're doing better! Just keep up that great mindset and this will all be over before you know it. Try to do things that will keep you happy while going through this. The worst will be over in 4 to 5 days. It's such a short amount of time. Just make sure you stay positive. Keep it up!
Brian
hey :) Im doing really good now, Ive been relaxing a lot, took a hot bath with lavender epsom salt, and now im feeling really good...im sure it will be ups and down, but im really up so Im happy!
sorry to hear about your rough start today, all i can say is keep it up and you can be my inspiration. this is a great group of people as you know, and everyone is here for you girl
those both sound like really good ideas :) I really like puzzles so Im glad you mentioned that. I just woke up and Im feeling majorly depressed....already.
how about jig saw puzzles go to dollar store, or big lots, or borrow from anyone they pass the time.
my favorite, not free, but cheap and possible years of enjoyment...
buy some seeds for any plant, flower, vegetable that you like, get some pots and grow something. caring for another living thing makes me feel better and digging in the dirt keeps you grounded. the accomplishment of cultivating can be rewarding. what do you think?
thanks guys :) I have a bunch of vitamins, amino acids, all the stuff for my body...what I really need help with is my mind...I know thats a lot harder to fix but like I said Im trying to find some suggestions for hobbies and whatnot to keep my mind occupied, ive never been good at finding hobbies.
Look in my journals for amino acids and also the Thomas recipe. It is very important to start feeding your body with things that will help it rebuild itself.
iv been reading as much as i can on getting clean and i just learned that most addicts are hypoglycemic and hypoglycemic diets may help its something to try maybe
