How to improve memory loss from a tramatic brain injury?

I suffered a tramatic brain injury a little over 2 years ago which caused  me to have a massive stroke as well. Long story short I managed to survive but as a professional accountant for my entire life, I am no longer able to hold a job, My oldest son had to teach me how to drive again,,, it was that catastrophic. My youngest son take Aderall for his ADHD and I have heard that is it effective from people such as myself that suffer from short-term memory loss...? I do not want to become addicted to any drug but is this medically effective to take?

My Dr prescribed me Adderall for managing cognitive symptoms and processing speed deficits from my TBI. It fairly common. I can multitask and have much less nuerofatigue.

I have never heard anything about Adderall being used for that. My husband has a TBI and not once has he been offered Adderall as a treatment. You just have to learn to be patient. I know it's been 2 years but you can still improve. Cognitive therapy is key. Do memory exercises. Make lists of what you need to do each day. Carry a notepad and pen with you always to write down important info. It's hard but you can do it. Routine schedules lists and patience. You don't need Adderall to complicate things.
