I am day 1

A43
I am only day 1 off hydrocodone. I was in a bad accident almost 2 years ago and the back and shoulder pain persists today, as we speak, but I am fed up hoping that my next hydrocodone refill will come and stressing that it won't. I take 3 to 5 7.5/500 per day and have for months, I am fearful this will be nbo fun, but have no idea if what I have been taking is excessive, or too excessive. I have begun already feeling anxious, hot and sweaty and from what I read I have not started anything yet. Any advice. I am done, and do not intend to pick up my next RX, which is ready and waiting at CVS.

What might be a small dose for one person can be a huge for another. Its all the same in the end and you are smart for wanting to stop now. The longer you take it the harder it will be to stop. Keep talking to us on here, it helps.

I always tell everyone to get:

Imodium
Advil or Tylenol
Mag/Cal/Zinc supplement at Wal Mart(For WD, RLS and cramps)
Gatorade and Apple Juice(For potassium and hydration)
Epsom Salt for baths...it really helps pain, aches, anxiety, RLS
Hyland's Restful Legs (supplement can be gotten at wal mart or similar places)

Also, eat bland fool like crackers and soup and toast.  The thomas recipe is on the health pages, and it has helpful info in it too.  Hot baths helped me SO much.  Don't underestimate them!

If you start having symptoms and have more questions, be sure to ask!

Thanks all. Day 1 is on the books. Last night we had 20 adults and 18 kids 5 and under at my house for my son's 1 year birthday. Clearly I thought to myself I picked the wrong day to quit. I was nervous, uncomfortable and restless. Anxiety. Took a couple oof Tylenol PMS so I could sleep and was up in 2 hours, for 3 hours, thoughts racing. But, I did fall back to sleep. Today, as of early this morning, better...

Good!  I know it's hard to believe, but lots of people don't even get that much sleep during WDs, so I'm glad you got some!  Just get through the weekend, and it will start to get much better!  Post any questions you have!

Thanks, it really does seem easier to deal with knowing that I am not an island and there are others out there that have been though this nonsense before. The bad thing is I knew it was happenning, just the pain was so bad, I stopped caring about the slide into addiction. Anything to numb the pain. The pain is there now, screaming, but I need to checdk for something to improve it, rahter than mask it. Thanks again!
