Hello I am addicted to Vicodin. I take up to 6-10 a day. I can not get away from this. I need help. I need advice. It gives me energy and I feel alive again. I don't know how to get away from this evil drug. I lost my sad to suicide when I was 6 he was high on pain pills and killed himself. I don't wanna end up like him. I need help please

Hello & Welcome! Thanks  so much for reaching out - that's a big step. As Bubulous asked above, it would be helpful to know a little more about your situation. Is this your first habit? For how long? Have you tried to kick it to the curb? How old are you? Are you on any other meds? Just fill us in on your situation a bit.
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad..Many users have early trauma in their pasts and addiction in the family is pretty common. At this point, I'd point out that you have to start telling yourself that You CAN do this. Fear, shame and guilt keep us locked in the cycle and looking backwards. Almost everyone here felt like you do before they kicked. I'd suggest that you go to individual pages and look into the journals and posts. It's most inspiring. This site is a very powerful tool and many give it credit for their success. Please, keep posting. You're not alone in this. We're here..
