I'm getting disgusted with doctors!

I just got home from the "pain clinic" where I went to see a dr. who was supposed to give me shots today after seeing my MRI.  Well, no shots, and he just looked at the MRI today, and saw pinched nerves in my neck... duhhhh!

Last time I saw him, almost 2 weeks ago, he said he'd be able to give me shots in the neck as soon as he saw the MRI.  But he lied AGAIN! .. this was the 2nd time he lied to me about those stupid shots.  Now he says he needs ANOTHER authorization from my insurance company to give me the shots, and I have an appt. on the 29th for that.

He also said he also had to warn me of the risks, which include infection, bleeding, and possible paralysis.

I'm so tired of the pain, I just can't take it anymore, and am sick and tired of stupid doctors and their stupid referrals.

What should I do... I'm just sooooo very frustrated... this whole thing is taking far too long,, and the dr said that the shots in my neck might "possibly" help with these horrendous headaches I get every single day... yeah, they range up to a 9 on that stupid scale of 1 to 10.  I like the increased appetite and getting new things done, but just can't handle this terrible pain.

Help please!!!

Hi Kathy, I feel the frusatration in your post and sooo empathize with you on it.  I have been diagnosed with sclaraderma and the dr visits are sooo ridiculous...I just got the epidural steroid shots in my neck last week and they do seem to be helping with the headaches I was having...hang in there the 29th is coming....

Hey Honey....

It just breaks my heart when I hear what you have to go through. this is going to sound hypocritical because I am guilty, but since the "RX AGE" has come on the scene the DEA, pharmacists and doctors have all cracked down and it is near impossible for people with real pain to get help and relief. Doctors are paranoid that everyone is out to get drugs. In your case I know that is not true. I know all you want is some relief from the pain, but they don't understand that.

Please try and be patient (I am sure you want to smack me for saying that again). I have had the epidural shots that Cathy was talking about and they really did help me. If you can hang on until the 29th I can almost guarantee you will have relief.

Kathy, I wonder if a temporary script for migraine meds might help you over the hump until you get the injections?  Would you feel comfortable calling your doc about that?  They might help you!
