Clonodine is usually used to help alleviate some of the anxiety that comes along with the w/d. I would think that you could start using the supps and aminos at any time. Most of us have/had very poor nutrition when we were using so your body probably needs that stuff anyway.
I just wanted to give you a little encouragement. I was a 350+mg/day Oxy user. I chewed them and all those things too. I ct'd on Sep 11th and I feel great today. I used the amino acid protocol and now attend NA. I am 25 days clean, and the last 2 mornings I woke up not even thinking about pills, but rather what I was going to do with my family during the day. It is an awesome feeling of freedom, but a conscious decison to stay clean everyday. You can do it. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
clonodine will help u sleep, helps anxiety and also will slow the stomach down and help the runs...300 mg of oxy is a high dose...ochooked come off a high dose as well and used sub for 21 days...he tapered down first like u r doing or he would have never been able to get off the sub in 21 days as his starting dose would have been too high...pm him..he is not a sub fan tho fyi...do u have someone doling out your pills to u each day? it is good u r getting started on this now...u were dipping into deep territory and good 4 u for picking urself up now...clonidine will lower your blood pressure so check it before u take it....u probably will not need anything like that til u get down in dose a bit more...remember not to freak urself out as alot of this is mental...the thomas recipe is great to start now as well as an exercise routine if u do not have one...good luck

Thanks so much for always being close by, really means a lot. The taper is small and I havent really noticed any thing so far. The hardest part has been not chewing them. Cheated once in the morning but felt so bad about, havent done it since. I MUST play by the rules this time to succeed.Anyhow, im taking my doctors advice , then posting, reading, and so forth taking everything into consideration before making any big decisions. Hell, who knows, after coming clean w/ my doc and getting her support. the taper may go very well. so far so good. so until I even consider anything other steps, the taper goes on....thanks again for being here and same to everyone else. I will succeed and not forget any of you. Ive got a long, hard road ahead. Just a little easier thanks to you all. I'll be spending a lot of time here and look forward getting the help I so desperatly need to get through this. Thank you, more than you know

you already know my opinion, but I hope you keep asking and posting -- I am very interested to see others sub stories and can only hope your fully educated with people's pesonal experiences before you make this choice which is of course a very personal one. You have to do whatever it takes to make it work for you. Hope things are going well with your taper. I wish you nothing but luck in any treatment you choose.
Keep waiting for an answer. It is slow in response b/c of the weekend. Good luck
*bump*
anyone come off this high of a dose using a fast taper sub approach ? (21 days) or is this just wishfull thinking

The normal starting dose for suboxone is 16 mg usually 3-4 times a day. After you are on sub for a while, prob a month or longer, depending on your PM dr. After the sub treatment you will more than likely be switched to subutex, and the dose is 16mg and 2mg. The 16mg is an opiod and the 2mg is narcan which helps remove the opiates from your body while still having a small amount of opiates binding to your opiod receptors that way it's not totally cold turkey, you will still have some opiates that bind to the opiod receptors, but the receptors will not be totally saturated with opiates. Its a way of unbinding the opiates that are saturated to the body's opiod receptors, while still having small amounts of opiates binded to the receptors that way the withdrawl symptoms are not nearly as bad. And when the dr. decides to take you off the subutex you will not have near as many opiates binded to the opiod receptors which makes the detox process much easier to deal with, and it's nothing like quiting cold turkey....it is much easier with far less withdrawl symptoms. Hope this information was helpful!!
