Doctors with their PHDs and university "experience".another case of someone with no first hand experience giving opinions they know nothing about.
Sorry about the rant!!
Your doctor is wrong. Grossly wrong. It's widely accepted that it takes 3 months (90 days) for our nervous systems to get even close to normal. For most of us, myself included, it takes longer. It is widely accepted that it takes a year for our minds and bodies to begin to function normally. The re-wiring that happens with opiate use/abuse doesn't just magically repair itself. Tell your doctor he needs to do some research and get educated about opiate addiction. There is a great deal solid information out there. Why doctors who are advising patients about detox don't bother to do their homework is beyond me.
The only thing I can think of that she could possibly be referring to would be the severe stomach problems, nausea, and aches and pains than we have in the very beginning. We all know that there are other symptoms that last longer, like lack of sleep and energy, and anxiety and moodiness to name a few. Those who haven't been through it just don't get it. There is so much more to it than the severe symptoms of the first few days.
I hope you feeling better this morning. You're doing great, keep it up!
Hi Seagull.. Congrats on 19 days !! Your Dr has Obviously never detoxed before.. The anxiety does hang on for a lil but it does eventually fade I found walking was the best for this, it just helped to calm me all the way around.. Keep your eyes on the prize ok Your life back.. and again Congrats :)) lesa
Yea this is were the Doc's "book knowledge" is totally out the window!! Tell ur DR to take the pills for however long u took them & get back with u!!! Sorry but thats where i think WE on here have more smarts than the 9+ yrs of med school they have!
Stupid doctor! Everyone is so different and the reasons we let the pills suck us in are many and varied.
hey mate Im on morning of day 20 i still have anxiety n some shakiness the Dr to me has it wrong everyone is different but i feel like Im gonna have anxiety for a while yet.. hope ya feel better mate mwAh from oz aj
Doc's on one. Wish I was 100% after 19 days!
Unnn Uhhhh, That is pure nonsense. I know everyone is different, but at 19 days I still had anxiety (mild), and random muscle jerks(?) I will say after 30 days I felt 100%. W/D is so different for each of us. Some get tummy issues, some sneezing, yawning, coughing, tight throat, sweats, chills, nausea etc. I never got restless legs that all talk about, but had a racing heart each am for 3 weeks. Hope this helps. xx
