I must be the luckiest 52 yr. old ever. After dosing on 130 mg. methadone (clinic) for 14 yrs. I was miserable beyond words.Almost ready to check out (literally) I FINALLY found the doctor deams are made of and I am not even on suboxine!!!! The answer is a compound perscription (Called TROKIES(means sublingual)
It contains 18 mg.Buprenophine (like suboxine but more pain reliever) Naloxone 7.5mg and 40 mg Pirox(anti-inflamatory) Anybody using this? MUCH cheaper and the insurance isn't making you sign questionable papers and such. OH YEAH, I TOOK MY LAST 60 MG. JAN.19,2012

Hi, I just saw your note. You may get 2 messages because I had a hard time signing in..had to get a new password. I hope you are well and things are going your way. Jan 19 will be my 1 year anniversary for being off methadone; HOORAY. I feel SO much better. I lost 32 lbs. and that has really helped. As for the trokies, I stopped taking them in August. They contained suboxine, and they just were not helping my pain that much. Now I take Aleve(which cannot be mixed with the trokies), and I am also on 90 mg. Cymbalta, which helps depression and is quite good for pain. I have no cravings for methadone at all. I do have a good friend who was on oxys and he takes suboxine daily. He says no matter how long he goes, he craves oxys, but the suboxine stop his cravings. I suppose all addicts have to do whatever works! Also, I do feel much more comfortable in my own skin now! OH PLease on that 12 day thing__I TOOK 12 DAYS TO GO FROM 60MG METHADONE THRU SUBOXINE TO TROKIES!!! I came down 10mg. methadone a week (two days it was 15mg.) So it was around 9 WEEKS coming off methadone. SO SORRY !!! You must think I"m crazy!!!. However it took time feel comfortable in my own skin. (My grown kids joke "Its called REALITY). THAT,MY DEAR, IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY!!!!!

I had xanax, but They wouln't work.In fact, the first month I did very little sleeping. I have talked to several people that have gone back to it because of that.My eyesight was screwy- I didn't even drive for 3 weeks .I was fortunate to be retired, and many can not go that fast.

Man! I don't know why either. Could it be because there's little financial gain in helping someone get off of opiates QUICKLY? LOL It makes you wonder...
I think it's incredible that you got off that amount of Methadone and feel good! How long did it take you to taper from 130 to 60 mgs?

Sorry there is a typo..PIROX is the anti-inflamatory.
You are right. the pharmacist came up with it.I am in Birmingham, Al. Each dose has 81/2 bupro,2 mg. naloxene and 7.5mg Nalox, the anti-inflamatory.I feel better than I have in years. Some days I don't even take any--I can still take tylenol.I cant understand why other Drs. are not on to this either. This Lady save my life. AND YAHOOOO-off methadone forever!!
Okay. It sounds like a compounded drug that she herself has put together. In Europe, a trokie is a throat lozenge...are you in the US?

My answers to your questions are in the comments section..sorry. But i forgot to say there is no general name for the trokie. It is a script that is mixed up at a compound drug store. TROKIES just means sublingual.as you place them under your tounge.
I did get a fuuny look from the pharmacist!!! Yes,she did.I took my last dose of methadone at 60mg. She does not use subutex,so the oxys were simply to aleve my meth. withdrawals. I still had so much meth. in my system, the oxys did not get me high at all.(And trust me, as an addict, I hoped).
You get 15 oxys to take 3 a day. Then wait about 24-48 hrs. for that to come out of your system.Then start the suboxine. I didn't like the suboxine-made me kinda speedy. I had heard her other patients talking about the trokies. They have the same ingredients as the suboxine but an extra anti-inflamatory in them.They dont make me so edgey. I know it sounds wierd, but it totally worked!!

I want to be clear: she gave you Sub AND Oxy together? Can you explain this? Then gave you the "trokies" and you take those prn? What is the trade name for those? Sorry. Trying to understand...
im really happy4u.Ive heard NOTHING good about the long,awful meth w/d.Im just curious about the med ir on trokies?Is it something u take long term like the meth or subs(btw yeah ur very smart npt2do the sub route Ive heard the same thing about subs.People think they found some miracle pill2get off meth&they think they r blessed but next thing they know there on subs4ever&w/d is awful too).What have u been told aboit the tokie w/d or derox process?
HI never herd of this stuff b/4 but it great you where able to get off the methadone ......I did a slow taper off and it s ucked but it was doable and in 8 1/2mo I was clean from a 6 1/2yr 150mg habit WOOHOO!!!.....so from your post your now clean as of jan 19 2012 or are you on the Trokies ???ether way your off the methadone and that is a huge +keep posting for support good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
