Hi everyone ... I was on OC 40mg 3x a day and Percocet 10/325 3 x a day for breakthrough pain, for about a year with no issues ( I have rods in my spine ... long Story)  After a year I started taking more than the prescribed amount and ran out twice before my Dr's Appointment .... this time I just decided I had enough and that the pills were making me feel dead inside.. so I stopped on my own ( I still have a plenty of both pills)    Anyway I am going into day 6 with no meds at all and I have been taking Advil & Tylenol .. taking hot baths and even had a massage last night and today ... I just can't get rid of my pain. I was considering taking a half of one of the Percocets just to take the edge off.  I am just really suffering and am not sure I can make it .. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks Von

do not take a pill.push threw it your pain seems worse right now because your body wants its fix so your pain receptors are going crazy .it does not last for ever in the long run you will probably find your pain level is less of the pills then it was on ...Just give it time .try to get some exercise that helps as well and if otc stuff is not working talk to your doctor about a muscle relaxer they can be quite effective if you find the right one .hang in there ..

Hi! congrats on your day 6....you're doing great!  If I were you I would get rid of any extra pills you have...they are just too much of a temptation.  I'm on day 9 and although most of the wd symptoms are gone I'm having quite a bit of back pain.  If you take some of the perc it will just drag you right back in again and apparently once you build a tolerance there's no getting it down again.....don't quote me on that though...just something I've heard.

I really hope you stay with just the over the counter meds.  Good luck to you and keep posting!!!
