Its my third day off vicodin... Honestly I was told that music can be a great comfort.. I thought NO WAY...Well, I'm feeling like crap so TRYING IT really couldn't hurt right? Well I'm listening to Aaron Neville and believe it or not...MY SPIRITS have actually lifted❕❗ the pain and ickyness is still there but my attitude about it is MUCH BETTER ❕❗ YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ‼ THANKS A MILLION for "going through it with me"
Barb, thank you so much! It was nice to hear that!! And I will have to watch that video!! XC I'm not sure I ever heard that one before but I will pull it up today for sure!! AMAZING how fast things change in recovery... I was at such a low point when I posted this...
The first night I was detoxing I kept one song on repeat that I think many addicts could relate to, Macklemore "Otherside" and it helped get me threw that first night.
It startled me to see this post and what I wrote.... Encouragement is always appreciated and because of it I am now 39 days clean with nothing but clear skies ahead. Thank you Ms. clare

I don't care for the black eyed peas, but the you tube video of them singing for Oprahs 50th B-Day, and the flash mob dancing is such an incredible video. There is no way to be sad when watching it. The whole thing, between the simple words to the song and the sheer energy, excitement and togetherness ( not sure of right word there) of the crowd dancing is uplifting. 20,000 people dancing and just having fun, just happy to be alive.
I have watched/read all your posts. I was kind of down so I wasn't posting. But want to take time now to say hi and tell you, you're doing such a good job. You have an amazing attitude and radiant warmth. Congrats!
