Methadone withdrawal

My wife got on methadone for "pain" and is of course abusing them. She is at about 80mg a day for 3mos and will be out before renewal date. Her Dr is out until next week Any suggestions?

Thanks. She has 10 10mgs left and can't see Dr until at least Tuesday. She wants to get off them or she is going to loose her family. I am an recovering herion addict as is she and I have 14 years clean. Pain meds keep taking her out. She his High BP on top of it, Hep C and never did the methadone thing before. I have and was on 240 at one time, couldn't sleep for 23 days. If we can get her through until the Dr I will dole them out and wean her down slowly. Is she looking to get off methadone or make till next week. Either way, I think she should give them to you, and you can give them to her as prescribed. Have her take cal/mag/zinc 400 percent RDA in the morning and in the evening. Start those ASAP. Get Immodium for stomach issues and protein drinks for when she can't eat. It takes 5-7 days for full acute withdrawal to hit many people. Go to her next appointment and give her dose as prescribed. Once she gets stable on that, it's time to form a plan to stop this from happening. If she wants to quit, I did it. I actually have less pain now. See if she will talk to us. We've been through it. I made it up to 250mg though. No better time to tackle this, let us know how we can help.
