My first birthday clean..
Well, today is my birthday, and my anniversary, and my 10th day clean, and my first clean birthday/anniversary in 5 years. I guess you have to look for the small victories in life :) Plus, there's CAKE.
Hey buddy!! I have not been on in a couple days and just saw this post. I hope you had a GREAT B-day & anniversary!! Good for you being clean too, I hope it was much more enjoyable for you that way. Sounds like there was a lot of food involved, I hope you did not feel sick the next day, hahaaaa!! Take care : )

I haven't been eating for the last few days...I've got a nasty bug of some sort. I think it's the same one I got on the honeymoon...back bigger and badder. I finally broke down and went to the Dr. today. Tim was threatening me, the last two nights, with a trip to the E.R.
He's getting my meds now, so hopefully I'll feel better in day or two. Nothing narcotic, btw. Antibiotics and prescription expectorant. To top it off, I think I'm getting another kidney stone! Lucky for me, they usually don't cause me any pain...just nausea. And I have phenergan for that if it gets too bad.

Oh yeah, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, chicken and dressing. We ate a lot of chicken. Tastes like frog legs, ya know.
The first thing I'm going to do when I get to heaven is look up my grandmother and ask her to make me just one of her fried chicken and dumplings dinners with biscuits and gravy. I wasn't born in the south (California to be exact) but my mother (and grandmother) were from Mississippi and my dad from Arkansas and I was raised around southern people and southern food and my mouth is watering thinking about it.
One of my fondest memories of my long gone youth are my grandmother's sunday afternoon fried chicken dinners.

i can make the biscuits, and i cannot imagine putting dressing..not stuffing inside of the bird...yuk. i want cornbread, breadcrumbs celery onions and sausage in my dressing with gravy thank you very much...i am a southern girl. sooner born and bread. sooner born and sooner dead!! not real death. ou sooner football fan.
I actually made chicken and dumplings last Friday. Not nearly as good as Granny's, but anything with a pint of heavy cream and a stick of butter ain't all that bad. I can make gravy, but biscuits still allude me. That's why I usually just fry something and put the gravy over it :) Geez, I thought the pills were killin' me..may be all this stuff :)
I tell ya..you guys are great. All in all, it's been a pretty nice day. It's raining here, which we need desperately. A guy couldn't ask for a greater group of folks. God bless you all.
oh...well i was actually hoping for a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting...but cheesecake will do just fine...LOL!

Y'all are the best. You know, this cheesecake would be all yours if I could get it to y'all. My mother-in-law is making my favorite meal, too. Chicken and Dressing (it's stuffing..just in a dish..we don't put it in the bird in the South..what did that chicken or turkey do to you, anyways? :)
