Okay - I am leashing up the girls - putting on a big hat & going for a walk.
You guys are so great!! I feel so crappy . . . .come here & feel better. Thanks!! :-)
You're doing great! Just take it easy and you'll be feeling better very soon! The antsy / uncomfortable feeling is very normal. Try to go for a small walk if you can...it will help.
just hang in there...we have ALL been right where you are now...and we made it...and so can you...emotions are crazy at 2-4 days...just ride the waves and know that it is temporary!! watch comedies, youtube...music, just stay as active as you can...i know it's HARD to even move right now but try anyway...it will help you sleep better later if you wear yourself out.
Totally normal. I would go from being weepy to snapping at anyone and everyone and biting their heads off for nothing. I was a basket case for a good week or two. Those emotions have been buried and numbed for a long time. They tend to just flood out. I say cry if you need to cry and yell if you need to yell! Get it all out! As far as the antsy feeling, staying as busy as possible helps that. Great job on the laundry! I know how much effort it takes to do anything during detox. If you can force yourself to take a little walk, it will also help this feeling. I know it's hard, but the more active you are, the quicker you will get through this and feel better.
Thanks. Right now I just feel so . . .antsy. Like I need to do something - but I have no energy . . . .
I did a load of laundry - and that was a major undertaking . . . .
Called in sick to work . . . .again . . .I have never called in sick - in 15 years!! I feel like a looser. Oh great . . . .now I feel weepy . . . .what the hell is thia about??
Melatonin can help with sleep. Also Valerian Root can calm you down and make you sleep more soundly. If you need something stronger, maybe try some good old Benadryl. That will also help with any pesky allergy-like symptoms you may be having. A hot bath with Epsom Salts can do wonders too. Also helps with the RLS and pulls the toxins out, so helps you detox quicker. I hope you can get a little relief and a little nap in today. Don't get discouraged if sleep doesn't come. Sometimes you just have to go with the sleeplessness and resign yourself to the fact it will come back when you get better. Try to stay occupied instead of dwelling on the fact that you can't sleep. Funny movies and TV shows, music, and chatting on this site can all help. Sending wishes for the sandman your way!
Everyone is different and it depends on a lot of different factors such as age, general health, amount of daily use, and total length of use. Most folks start feeling slightly better by days 4-5. Some a little more, and some a little less. Just hang in there and know that this will pass very soon. Please don't let it discourage you if someone says 2-3 days and you are on day 4 and still feeling rough. We are all different and heal at different rates. You are doing fantastic! 43 hours! Yay for you! Keep up all of your hard work and keep fighting. Please keep us updated, ok? Let us know what the worst symptoms you are having are and we can share different things that helped us. Best of luck and take care!
Thanks all. I am curled in a ball on the sofa, in sweat pants, wool socks & a sweat shirt. My hands are like blocks of ice . . .AND we are having a heat wave here on the CA coast.
Any ideas on how to get some sleep?? Can I take a lot of the CVS blue sleepy time caps??
the first 3-4 days was the worst for me...but everyone is diff....i think you should be turning a corner soon...just hang in there ok? just know this is temporary!! then you will have your life back!!
For me the worst were the first 48 hrs. However some say days 3 and 4 were the worst for them (I, personally, began to feel better by then). Each person is different and it really depends on so many factors (body chemistry, length of use, type of drug / amount per day, etc). I wish I could give you an exact answer but, generally speaking, you should begin to see some relief very soon. You're doing great and just take it hour-by-hour and read a good book, watch some movies, and/or listen to music (music really helped me in the beginning).
