been 24 hours since last dose of methadone... feel wonderful.... the 'pill' lady even called and I haven't called back......
I don't think you're wrong at all with your above mentioned post. I think you're absolutely right when you say that most people can not do methadone alone, or coming off of it rather. So there's a sucess story here and there... Once again, not all two people are the same when sitting behind a computer screen.
Either way, I think it's safe to say that when it boils down to it -- anything dealing with withdrawls, detox, addiction, recovery or anything healthwise would be better off done with the assistance of a doctor or other healthcare professional that knows what they are doing exatly. I hope this helps, and I hope that you BOTH stay in touch.
I stand corrected -- I've read too many stories here about Methadone; I figured it was too addictive to stop on your own.
We agree, as I guess everyone who sees this, that medical help is required ASAP.
Kfred, keep in touch.
My friend was on methadone for several months and was able to go CT from methadone on his own -- This doesn't mean that everyone else is. You need to seek medical assistance for this if at all possible, please.
Continue to post here and let us know how you are!
Don't do it. You can't kick Methadone on your own, no matter how determined you are.
Sorry, but it's a slow taper -- talk to doctor. Take your dose and come back here -- might be pretty quiet overnight, but you'll get lots of advice from the folks that know.
You need your dose adjusted (it's kind of early for w/d's from Meth), you need to be looked at by a doctor, and if you want off Methadone, you probably have to do it in a detox.
Don't torture yourself.
