Emily!!!!! OMG...Girl...I cannot believe you are back. I truly never thought you would be back, ever..
Anyway..I am so happy to talk to you again, but am sorry about the circumstance...You have been through this before and you know that each day will get better and better. The worst of it should be over in a few more days...Go to the drug store and get hylands restless leg for the RLS and plenty of bananans, they will work, trust me...get heating pads and use those if you have to. The heat will help tons with the RLS...
As far as the lack of energy goes, look up amino acid therapy...there are things you can take there to help...
I am so happy to see you are back, hope things are well..
Lisa
you can try an OTC med called Hylands Restful legs and that helps a bit. Bananas help and potassium as well. I think it's very psychological for us that we can "make it through" the day but have the worst troubles at night because we THINK and our body KNOWS we are supposed to be sleeping. i used to get RLS and RAS (restless arms) even when i wasn't going thru withdrawal and had to walk around the house and shake my arms out until i was physically exhausted. also, i know the thought of this might sound insane but you should try exercising. you can do it ewither during the day to get your endorphins back this way really tiring yourself out for the night time OR do it at night so you just collapse into exhaustion. i trruly believe the RLS is the worst.
if it's really bad you might want to ask your dr for a script for requip. it's not a narcotic and works really well and is specifically for RLS.
good luck to you and congrats on stopping again!
now, think about how you won't get started again and what you plan on doing differently. 2 years is a long time to be clean and you might want to take a look at why you started again.
when we stop and start, no matter how long we've stopped for, becuase our brains still crave it, we picked up right where we left off, tolerance wise, and it usually ends up being worse than before.
again, congrats and good luck.
hang in there 2 more days to Freedom!!! Do smtn to keep yourself busy. Post here as much as you like. Just do not take the evil pills. Keep going forward and come here anytime for support.
We have all done it. Its uncoomfortable, unpleasan't and IT *****. But you know you don't need to be taking that many pills. Your liver is thanking you now too
I have been using Valium and Klonopin ( not together ) at night..helps a little. Today is day three, and around 5pm tonight it will be 72 hours clean for me. The day time isn't bad...I just lay on the couch all day, lol. But the night time? Horrid! The past 2 nights I have not fallen asleep till 4am and wake up at 7am. I am EXHAUSTED!! Thanks for checking in. What day did you say that you started to feel better?
Just wanted to say Good Morning and IT WILL GET BETTER! Because I didnt get classic RLS, I cannot answer that question in my experience BUT My sister W/D last year from percocet and she had bad RLS she said that was HER worst thing too and I seem to remember her saying it lasted aboout a week...She took Tylenol PM.... Hope your feeling better..... Oh, Have you tried sleep aids of any kind? I took Niquil 2 nights and a benedryl one night?
Thank you so much for your responses!! In 5 minutes, it will be exactly 48 hours since my last dose...I was only on 4-6 pills for 4 or so days...before that, was up into the 20's a day. so at 48 hours clean right now, with MAJOR RLS at night, so bad that I cannot sleep until about 4am, roughly how many more days can I expect of this ****?? I can handle everything about withdrawal...EXCEPT RLS. It's worst at night, after husband and son go to bed, and it drives me so crazy that I feel like Im literally going to go crazy!!! How long is the WORST of the RLS? I know it's different for everyone, but in general, how many nights are the worst??
Everyone is different. I went ct from heavy opiate use and I had rls and couldn't sleep for two weeks. It does get better I promise and the exersize is what realy helped me, force yourself even if it's just a short walk, it will help get the endorphines (sp?) back into your brain.
Godspeed!
Hi there,
Well Percocet 10/325 was what I w/d from over 2 weeks ago... WTG for doing it again! In my experience the lack of sleep lasted about 5 days and I never really had classic RLS. I felt like I just couldnt get comfortable! Days 3-6 were the worst for me. Felt like I had the Flu and I just wanted to sleep or rest! Arm yourself with soup and crackers, immonium, pepto, xtra strength Tylenol. I used Niquil twice at night to sleep, which worked for me but thats your call.. You will feel better in about 5 or 6 days.. Keep it up.. YOU CAN DO IT! Then you will feel GOOD again! Come back when you can and let us know how you are doing!, Kim
how long were u stable at the 4-6 a day dose? if u were at that dose for a month or so then it should maybe be less than a week...if just for a short time a week or more...and u know we are all different and things like age, health, attitude and support all come into play....are u using the recipe? and exercise as much as u can tolerate? wanna wish u luck tho...and keep posting
glad to hear you made the decision to quit, the rls can last for a bit up to a couple of weeks. at the bottom right hand of the pages you will see the thomas recipe and amino acid protocol look it up and it has a bunch of tips and vitamins to stock up on to help with the sleep and rls and body aches plus other things.good luck on your journey to getting clean and our prayers are with you.post anytime you need for help.
