Relapse & Legal Issues

Question

I was on Suboxone for 18 months before going to a rehab for a week, where they took me off all CDSs including suboxone, xanax & adderall.  After I was released, I felt so sick, I relapsed a few days later rather than call my psychiatrist and my mother had me arrested for possession of narcotics & having benzos without a prescription.  I have never been arrested before and I'm terrified of what will happen when I do go to court to face these charges.  I finally saw my shrink today & he put me back on suboxone and xanax, thank god.  I no longer need the illegal stuff.  Has anyone ever had any legal ramifications due to drugs? I live in NJ, I have a small child & I'm so afraid that they will take her away from me. She's only 5 & I'm her only parent.  Since this is my first offense, will I face jail time? I"m so scared!!

You need to get a lawyer and talk with him/her.

Getting a lawyer is good advice. Never being arrested before will help too. So will being put back on meds by a psychiatrist. You might ask the psychiatrist to appear or write a note on your behalf? Only 6 days to get clean from sub and Xanax, seems too quick to me. The fact he/she put you back on them seems to indicate that too.

Unless you have been arrested before and have a record, they will most likely give you a fine and put you on probation,( I got 2 years for possesion w/intent and xanax also), with random drug tests, plus meetings with your PO.
    The drug tests are supervised all the time, and at least for me, I needed to call up every moring to see if I had a urine test.
