Thanks everyone. My doctor just does family medicine so ofcourse she said I have to see my gastro doctor before they give a final diagnosis but I have all the classic symptoms of crohns including the arthritis. She offered something for pain until the 17th but I can't and refused. I have come too far to go back. The worst part is severe abdomonal pain and the arthritis. I feel like a 90 year old, not a 26 year old. When the pain hits my stomach, my knees hit the floor, I break out into a cold sweat and feel like I am going to pass out. She said if I have mnay more episodes I just need to go to the ER BUT I don't have insurance so that's a no! I may find another gastro since mine is unable to see me until the 17th. We will see. I am going to hang in there. Thanks everyone!!! Merry Christmas!!
i know exactly what you mean, i'm on day 6, and not only is my back killing me, i'm getting all kinds of **** in my head from my 10 years of military service, it hit me like a sledgehammer, i guess being whacked out on pain meds for 5-6 years really kept the ptsd from being bad...i'm hoping this is just temporary from coming off the meds. hang in there!
I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. It seems like we are always being tested and your situation is a biggy. I have bad back pain and the only time it doesnt bother me is when something else hurts, such as a migraine. From that I have learned that it is possible to focus away from the pain, you just need to find your method of doing this. You can google mindfulness exercises or other techniques for pain management outside of pills.
Good luck and I hope you recover quickly.
I hope you dont have chrohns...maybe its just a prolonged gastro thing goin on from WD? A few times I had diarrhea and the pains with it much longer than it was "supposed" to last from WD but it finally did go away. Did they give you Prednisone? I have a few relatives with CHronhs and know that prednisone helps it a lot. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya girl!
Hey Movnon!
Glad to see your still hanging in there-----The pills can cover up a lot of conditions-----I still have back pain which is why I was getting the pills---I'm 52yrs old a have a small landscape business so the pills gave me energy and killed the pain making it easier to work for a while----then they became counter productive-----It's been 42 days since I quit-- the Longest I've been without Pills in 6 yrs. and I have finally started getting my energy back and never consider going back to my old ways---------I finally realized through this forum that I am an addict and can never take opiates again because I will not be able to control it------have not told my dr. that I quit yet but he will know when I don't get a refill next week-----There are newer treatments for Crohns and I hope that you will get relief soon------Best regards and Merry Christmas!
