I ran out of hydo's for 2 days once.....and got so sick I had to go to the ER.....my blood presure was so high that the doc said I could have had a stroke, or worse.........I have high blood presure already and he told me that by not having taken the hydo's for 2 days after taking them regularly.....that was the reason my blood presure shot up....he told me back then to seek help for my problem and not to play around with pain killers.......but I didn't listen.......I also talked to my doctor afterwards and she told me not to go cold turkey do to my health, (high blood presure)......that weaning would be the way I should go so that my body would be able to handle the stress of detoxing.......
This was something that happened to ME and I'm not saying it would happen to you......but it was scarey to see my blood presure shoot up to 198/125.......I hope I haven't given any wrong info here....this is just what I was told by the ER doctor.....

In most cases no you cannot die from detoxing from opiates...........

But there are two things that can be detrimental to the long time Heroin Addict.......
1. Like booze and Benzos there is the possiblity of seizures.....
2. Because of the life style of a lot of Heroin addicts not eating, homeless, poor health pushing a lot of dope intravenously including rat poison in many cases a heroin addict should be watched while he or she is detoxing..........
