It's not clear whether the amount of your prescription (120 mg) was taken daily or for an entire week. If the latter, that is a fairly small dose and you may have escaped physical addiction. I saw my son take over 200 mg at one time, on the way to rehab. He spent nearly a year on suboxone, with a long taper, then relapsed, and ODed because of the loss of tolerance. Get out while you can.
listen to someone like baron who has been there and done that..many here including me have not gone thru methadone wd...but it is a narcotic and not a grizzly bear..do-able//and many have kicked it..keep posting and the same things that helped another narc user can help u as well...it is a long acting drug and that is true...but it is do-able..and i have seen many patients stop it and survive....good luck and keep posting
If you've dropped ten milligrams a week with no side effects, you may be in the fortunate position of not being fully physically addicted to it.
I'd say talk to your doc about cutting your dose in halves now if your worried. Otherwise, you can try not taking it for two days and see what happens. It may go quite well. :-)
i'd also talk to him about some clonidine if it does go badly. Make an appointment for day two of not taking methadone. that way if you do suffer, you have an appointment set and ready to see him. Especially since most doctors won't prescribe withdrawal med's until you're actually in withdrawals.
