Tramadol withdraw: Ambien

Hello and thanks to those of you who have answered previous posts of mine.
I was going back through my journal today looking at my step down schedule, and it's been nearly 10 weeks since I started weaning off of this monstrous drug. I have taken a mere 12 1/2 mg  (1/4 tablet) twice daily for the last 2 days now, so I'm getting down to the very end of this nightmare.

I have had horrible trouble getting sleep now this past week or so and have taken ambien twice now and it makes a huge difference for the better. I got 6 to 7 hrs both nights that I took it. I did ask a pharmacists if it was a benzo drug, and it is not, so I decided to try it. I am wondering if anyone out there knows whether or not it is OK ??? I tried Tylenol PM and it doesn't seem to help at all.

Any comments about using Ambien? I appreciate all of your imput. I don't want to be doing anything to jeapordize my progress....

Also, another question. I read that Tramadol has an anti-depressant in it. Is this true, and can anyone tell me more about it?

Thanks, as always,

Steve

I have been on ambien off and on for ten years without tolerence or any problems...any drug can be abused...do not drinkwith it and be close to the bed when you take it  It acts quickly and has a short half life with no residual hangiver

Congrats on doing so well with your taper program! Getting down to next to nothing is truly a major accomplishment! I know how hard that can be as I too have tapered down from T.

Please keep us posted as I too will be getting to zero from a currently tapered amount of 75 mg/day, or 1 +1/2 tabs per day and your experience and success will certainly be a help an inspiration to me and others!

Best Wishes!

You are right ambien is not a benzo , just use it wisely and you will be fine.tramadol is not an antidepressant but it does raise your seration levels in your body . You really are doing a great job before you know it you will be off the meds .
