tapering off clonodine

hey everyone,

today is my 19 day clean and I actually slept a few hours last night so thats good.  I'm following the taper directions on the clonodine and today is my first day without a daily dose.  just checked my blood preassure and its 138 over 96.  the dialic is kinda scaring me Im assuming my body will get back to where it was before the clonodine once I get completely off for awhile but I am concerned that the perfect 120 over 80 Ive had all my life is ruined.  anyone who took clonondine when coming off can you please let me know if your blood preassure went back to normal and if it spiked when you came off. also how long does it take to level off?

thanks in advance

I would highly recommend checking with your doctor on this one...he/she knows your health better than we do and your history and can best advise you..mine had me cut down by one/day over a 2-3 week period but that might not be right for you.

I doubt that it is a problem.  I also took clonidine during and a little after detox and my blood pressure was in the 130/90 range for over a month after my detox was over.  Clonidine has a rebound effect, even when tapered, so your BP may spike for a few days due to getting off the clonodine - as well as the stress your body has been under due to detox.  If it goes higher or does not come down, definitely speak with your doc.  I quit taking the clonidine about 9 months after my detox and my BP was 120/80 yesterday.
