Want get off Norco but I'm scared

I've been on them for several years and take around 130MG a day, if I quit cold turkey is there danger?   I don't know what to do, I try to stop but can't function, I have a couple kids and run a business.   The exhaustion is overwhelming, just want to roll up in a ball and die!

Everything is now suffering because of my weakness, family and business, what can I do?

I take the meds for my back but don't need nearly as many as I take, I now take them just to maintain everyday life and find my self in this constant yo yo with the pills.  I'm truly happy about 5 days out of the month and the rest I'm counting the stupid pills how to make them last or where to find more!  Its the craziest loop I have myself in but I'm terrified how to get out where knowone knows what was going on!  My wife and I have a bad relationship at best and if I let her know what's going on everyone relitive and freind will know within a 1000 miles!

You came to the right place-it takes courage to admit you have a problem and ask for help.  As for going ct-there are a lot of people who have gone off a lot higher dosage than you on here-including myself.  There are a lot of factors involved-are you actually taking these pills for pain as prescribed by a doctor?  If so-and even if you're not, I would recommend going to see a dr and coming clean about your problem and getting some meds to help with the detox.  That is if you want to do a home detox.  If that's what you choose (and a lot of us do including me)  Check out The Thomas Recipe and ask your doc about clonidine (BP medication that for me cut w/d symptoms in half) This was my second detox and I am so glad I had the medical support I did.  Some people do the rehab centres but if that isn't an option for you then you can use this forum as a support system for ANYTHING while your going through it.  And I won't sugar coat it-it's hell...But it's so worth it.  Infact it's worth your life-and that of your families...because the rollercoaster ride you are on will not end well.  I have been clean for 16 days and feel restored to myself.  It was worth all the suffering and then some.  And then after detox-you need to think about aftercare-whatever that looks like for you so that you don't get yourself into this place again.  I know it's a tough time of year to do this-but really there is never a convenient time-only when your mind is made up that you've had enough.  Because if you don't make the choice for yourself, then the pills will make another choice for you-at some time.  And you don't want that.  I wish you all the best-be kind to yourself and be strong.  There will be a lot of people here to help you here if this is what you choose...Sending support...Lu

I am on day 4 ct from 10 year 100 mg day hydro habit. It sucked for about 3 days today its a little better. Look at Thomas receipe and that has helped alot of people. I'm using bananas hot showers and vitamin c b12 and b6. It can be done. First 3-5 days are worst. Keep posting. This site is a God send for me!
