achey leg syndrome

Ok, so I think I posed my question incorrectly last time.  When I try to sleep my legs start to ache something awful.  I try to move and stretch them and nothing works.  My husband tried putting his knees in my lower back last night and that helped a little, but he couldn't sleep like that and then I was up all night.

I have tried hot baths.  Stretching.  Not sure what else to do.  Please tell me this is a wd symptom and it will pass.

But any suggestions?  They ache so much from toe to hip.  Even when I am awake they hurt a little.  I am now 6 days off the oxy I took for 3 years.

All part of withdrawals, got the same thing, kept moving my legs all night long. All went away so dont worry at all. if it happens, just REMEMBER it will all go away. Thats what I did.

Ok, so it has now been since Nov. 15 and no Oxy.  But, no sleep either.  I keep waking up in so much pain.  My legs, my back, my shoulders, everything.  I am exhausted.  I got 3 hours interrupted sleep last night.

I try to sleep in my bed and that hurts, then I try the couch and I sleep for an hour and wake up for 6 more.  I try the floor.  I sleep for an hour and then wake up.

I have hope this will pass, but I am so tired.  I feel like I have had the flu for a month.  Hot baths help until I get out.  I have been taking a lot of otc pain killers and now my stomach is killing me.

I can't figure out if I need a new bed, or if this stuff just takes a long time to leave your system.

Oh, and by the way, I have noticed an increased sense of smell.  Is that a side effect too?  I need to clean my house.  Everything stinks.  grin.  But I am so darn tired that I can hardly move.

Any idea how long this lasts?  This all over achey feeling when I am in one position for any period of time?  Just tell me it passes.

Thanks.

Thank you all!  I am so grateful for all your help.  I have no desire to go back.  I am just thrilled that this too will pass and it looks like soon.  You have all given me hope.  Since day one you have all been here for me and I can't thank you enough.

I had no idea what to do, and this board saved my life.  I am totally grateful.  I can't wait to be the old me again.  And if I have to live through some sleepless nights and leg pain, well, so be it.  I can take it.  Just knowing it goes away makes all the difference.

Again, to one and all - you are wonderful people who are caring and loving.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Yes yes definitely hot hot baths and everyone is right -- it will pass. Unfortunately for most of us - those sleepless nights were the worst with the RLS and pain and you just want to die.. There are little things that can help a little - hot baths, ace bandage wraps -for me, I rubbed vicks on my knees and ankles -- but in the end, time is your best friend.  Please know it gets better -- 6 days, your almost there!  Hang in there.  Congrats and good luck!

Relax Terrified --- It is withdrawals and it will pass.  The good news is that you are on Day 6 and almost to the end of your nightmare ---Please do not even consider going back since you are so close to your goal.  It will pass and SOON.  Everyone who has quit knows about the aches, RLS, and pain associated with W/D-- especially the sleepless nights -- they pass - I guarantee it.  You are on the verge of becoming your old pre-drug self again and you (and your family) are going to love the new model.  Happy Thanksgiving and all the best.  Please keep posting - it helps a lot and you can be a real help to those who come behind you to see this site.
