When you quit the norcos then the xanax can be helpful in that it will help your nerves and perhaps you will sleep also, which is a problem for many who go through detox.
We who have been through detox know what it is like, and you can post here and read others posts who are going thru what you are. It is hard for a few days, and then the day will come when you know that you are going to be okay, and that is just a great feeling!
Please be aware that after detox the mental cravings will come, as most of us all know. Sometimes the mental is thought of as being tougher than the detox.
Best wishes

a weaker benzo may have been a better choice//but if xanax is what u have decided to use//like u said be safe...in the benzo family//xanax is the head hauncho/the strongest and hits fast and hard...ativan and klonopin run close behind at number 2...altho klonopin works slowly it lasts for a long time..ativan kicks in fast but not like xanax...valium andlibrium, several others are considerably weaker and safer....main thing is be safe....using sumpin for sleep/anxiety for a few weeks will not hurt if u keep control..i used ambien with no difficulty//but some abuse ambien..i have taken it for sleep for over 10 yrs when needed without an increase in dose....and i am an addict...downers///things that make me sleepy//just r not my thing nor my doc....but i know i gotta be careful with everything i take...sleep is important to recovery....be safe and hang tight
