Your doctor is indeed the safest way to go. I went inpatient. ( my doctor insisted) It is not an easy detox at all but well worth it. Best of luck to you. You can do it!
Slowly... remember you never want to cold turkey from a benzo. Connect w/the Dr. who's prescribing the clonazepam and they'll give you a good tapering plan. Good luck to you - and congrats for wanting to quit. I was on xanax for 12 years and made the HUGE mistake of quitting cold turkey almost two years ago and the withdrawal was horrendous, so please, talk to your Dr. so you'll be able to do this safely.
