You can either taper or go cold turkey. But with us being addicts tapering can almost be impossible. Tapering also kinda drags it out. If you taper you won't feel horrible but you won't feel that great either. If you go cold turkey the worst of the physical symptoms usually subside around day 4 or 5 and then it starts getting better from there.
There are some things that can help. If you look in the upper right hand side of the page you will see the "health pages". In there you will see the "amino acid protocol". It lists a bunch of vitamins and supplements that aid in withdrawal. They really do make a difference.
You also wanna be sure you are eating healthy and pushing the good fluids such as water and juice. Try and lay off the caffeine.
Make sure you force yourself to exercise even if it's just a short walk around the block at first. I know it can seem impossible to muster up the energy to do so but it makes a world of difference. In my opinion exercise is the most important thing you can do.
Also be sure that you are not laying in bed all day. Try and stay as active as possible. I once worked 12 hour shifts while going through withdrawals and it was by far the easiest withdrawals I went through. It wasn't fun by any means but staying active helped so much. I was taking about the same amount you are know at the time.
Try and get things to keep you busy. Go rent some movies, pick up a good book, do a jigsaw puzzle, anything that you think you will enjoy doing.
Most importantly get into NA or go and see an addiction therapist. The physical withdrawals will seem like a cakewalk down the road compared to the cravings that tend to hold on to us for some time. In order to be successful for life you have to work on the core issues of why you were abusing the vicodin. The relapse rate of the people who don't get into some type of aftercare is very high.
Pick a quit date and get going on this. The sooner you start the sooner your life will be more enjoyable. It's such a hectic life worrying about where the next few pills are going to come from. It's a life I don't miss at all.
Be sure to come here and post your progress. You will get so much support and we will help you through. There are some wonderful people here who will bend over backwards to help you succeed. Post as much as you want. Try and keep all your posts in this thread so people can follow you.
Hang in there. You can beat this!
Best of luck!

Make an appointment with an addiction specialist. Its confidential..Your going to need some help consuming that kind of quantity..And don't mess around. Your consuming almost 4X's that max daily recommended amount of tylenol and that max is not something that should be being exceeded on a daily basis. Getting a blood test wouldn't be a bad idea either. The tylenol will damage your liver and kidneys..
I think you need the substance abuse forum good luck
