Ending day 2

I feel a little better.  I fell asleep for about 2 hours.  My throat was sore so I had a teaspoon of cough syrup that was perscribed to me last time I was sick, I made sure it had nothing bad in it like OP.  So my question is if that ok cuz I took it as perscribed, it did say may cause drowsiness.

Thanks de, yeah it gets annoying cuz I wanna sleep, so either I wake up with the twitching or i take some magnesium stuff with the zinc and then I wake up again cuz i drank alot of water and have to go to the bathroom. ***** but it's better than the feeling like I'm gonna die.

Bananas work well for the restless legs because of the potassium.  And tonic water WITH quinine is supposed to work too (never tried the tonic water cause the bananas helped me so much).  Just a couple other things you can try if all else fails. :)

Great!  A little sleep and a lotta cleaning is a good thing!!!!  Vicki and I vacuum when we feel stressed or bored!  Hey, it's healthier than the alternative!!!

So what did you try to buy that has been taken off the market?  The hylands?

Yes the hylands stuff is good.  There is also a supplement at wal mart called cal/mag/zinc.  If you will take like 4 in the morning and 4 at bedtime that helps.  Also, some people get a LOT of relief from Nyquil....one dose at night before bed.  It has an ingredient in it that helps RLS.  It helped me, along with the supplements we told you about.

I know it's about to drive you up the wall.  It did me!  But DO NOT use to stop it!  That would be the only way you could mess up!

There is a product called "Hylands Restless Leg" that some members said have helped. I used heating pads on the calves of my legs and laid back in a lounge type chair. It is the laying flat thing that will make the RLS worse so if you get into a position where you are not flat, it may help.

Hang in there and whatever you do, don't use.

Is there anything I can do to help with the RLS besides a warm bath?

You probably have a couple more days of it.  Ya know, the minor stuff!  You should get a little more sleep each week.  Try not to look for improvement each day.  That can get really discouraging.  Try looking at it by the week.  By next Thursday, you will feel MUCH better than today.  And so on!  When I started doing that, it took some of the stress off my brain from trying to see if I was better than yesterday!

Day 4,  I was able to get a little more sleep.  Problem is that the minor RLS wakes me up.  When does that normally stop?

Well I fell asleep from 11am to 4pm.  I felt pretty good but I did take a half does of dramamine.  I went to target to get some of the unisom just in case of emergency.  Over all I feel alot better than when I started to taper off.  Thanks yall for the advice.  Oh @Katrina  I was never really in to the New kids on the block but I do remember Nilli Vanilli "Girl u know it's true... ooo... ooo..ooo.... I love you" hahahaha.  Gonna get ready to crash and got set my bath water to the right temp.  I knew I forgot to get some M. Bubbles! JK

Your doing great Jay. I love that you can keep a sense of humor thru this. I firmly believe that the wds and how u get thru them start with your frame of mind before even starting detox. Your almost thru the worst just keep going my friend. Hang tough! I bet hangin tough from new kids on the block is runnin thru ur head? ha ha ha

I hope since the last post was 5 hours you are getting some zzzz, the pm stuff also made me jittery. But you may have some success with it.

As far as the natural sleep aids, I swear by Melatonin, i haven't heard about the 2 hour one, I have some that dissolve under your tongue  and I'm out 20-30 minutes later.

Well hopefully you are getting more sleep tonight! You are almost there and full nights sleep will be there soon.

I just wanted to check on ya!  Still not sleeping?  I'd try a dose of Nyquil at night.  I'd stay completely away from anything "P.M." or benadryl type until your WDs are over.  They can really make you restless and unable to be still.  NOT good when you're trying to sleep!  I always had the worst insomnia during WDs, and the Nyquil honestly worked.  Now...nothing is going to make you sleep as much as you'd like, but you have to remember not to expect too much, and take what you can get!

I hope you rest tonight!  Take a bath before bed, and don't go to bed too early!  I think that's about all I can think of!!!!!!!!!!  : )

I found the tylenol pm and advil pm made me jittery (weird for an OTC sleep aid).  Unisom works the best if you're not looking for pain relief from your sleep med.  Also melatonin works great too but you're supposed to take that 2 hours before you want to go to sleep and should be taken in a dark room.

I know not sleeping can be tough - so I did take the unisom and melatonin for quite a while after I quit.  Never got hooked on any of them so I think you're safe.

Good luck to you! :)

Well It's day three and other than not getting the sleep I really feel about 85% better than when I started.  Thanks for all your guys support.  I do have a question though If I take tylenol pm at night instead of ibprofen or regular tylenol, would that mess me up?  I try not to stress on sleep but being up for such a long time I started seeing shadows and hearing things.
