30mg Methadone a day
I've been going to the methadone clinic now for a couple of weeks and I'm leveling out at 30mg a day. I'm doing this to come off of my use of Opium Tincture which I was on for about 3 years. I don't think that 30mg is all that much when I see people that are doing upwards of 200-360mg a day. I can't imagine even functioning on that amount. Anyways, I don't plan on staying on it forever, and will ultimately come off of it altogether (slowly wheening off of course). My question is has anyone out there ever had around the same dose every day and how difficult was it to come off of? What are your thoughts about methadone maintanance? I'm hoping to get hired on at my job permenantly here soon and I'm concerned now that the drug test will be the full "12" panel test that shows methadone in your system. If it's the basic "5" panel then I'm in the clear. Fingers crossed...

the idea of taking a drug every day for life is not good. (unless in legitimate pain)
i detoxed off 30 mg methadone cold t 5 months ago, 4 of the 5 months it felt like i got beat up every night and needed the day to heal,..... for over 4 months.

Methadone, Suboxone and Subutex were all designed to get opiate addicts through W/Ds between a 5-14 day weaning period.......
But I guess times are changing.........
In the old days Methadone was never given to get off narcotic pain pills........suboxone or Subutex was primarily designed for that.......Methadone is a little over kill and most of the time addicts use this medication as a substitute drug from what they were doing........
Bill I hope that one day the light will go on in your head to get clean and get alway from drugs all together so that you can get your life back.........look at all the money you will spend on your new habit........
I hope the best for you and remember Methadone is a very addictive drug and is much harder to get off then narcotic pain pills.......
We all have to live our lives and make our own choices have you ever considered getting clean?
