DIRTY UA WHAT'S THE PROCEDURE?

My question is this How can the doctor at the clinic okay the nurses to take you down on your dose from 120mg. to 60mg. in a 12 day period because of a dirty ua?  My ua showed up a benzo which I did not take, have never taken one and I have been at this clinic for 5years and never had a dirty ua.  Now that I am at 60 I am going to go off of this because of the above situation and get this, it is doctor recomended I only go down 2mg. every 14 days so I won't suffer any withdrawals, even though when I asked about the ridiculously fast pace of 5mg. a day for 12 days he said I would'ent have any problems, now can anyone explain that to me.

That is a brutal thing to do,they should be fired, but the doctors don't care.A patient can be fired for almost any reason. There is always another one of us to fill your shoes. This is why I finally tapered to 2 mg. and jumped
You may have to kiss their *** for a while, but be clean and get the hell away from that mess.I feel for you cause I know you can drop 10% every 2 weeks, and feel o.k.But not what they are doing to you.                                                   karl

In NC where I live if you have a dirty UA they can actually take you off your meds right there, that day, they don't have to step you down.  In NC you have to sign a pain contract that says you agree to and will have clean UAs.   Normally the doctor will discharge you from the practice and you have to find a new doctor if one will see you.  I am not trying to scare you or anything.  But it is best if you avoid a dirty UA at all costs.  Oxaprozin can cause a false positive for benzos... hope this helps.
