day 5 of detox not doing well

I am on day 5.5 of detoxing myself off of Narco.  I haven't really had to may symptoms except insomnia.  I had been doing fine before today, playing with my kids, excersising, walks, eating out etc., but last night didn't get much sleep and today I feel the worst.  Why would that be?  I thought day 3-4 were the worst.  I am very sad and saw a therapist yesterday, but i don't feel like that helped.  Is there anything natural that can help my symptoms or do you need anti-depressants or other medication to help with this?

Any time.  I've gotten a lot of help from the people here as well.  I hate to think of going through withdrawals while taking care of a 3 year old and a 16 month old.  You'll enjoy them again soon.  Just gotta get through a few more days.

I agree with you about the doctors.  They really like to prescribe stuff.  I think they feel like patients just want a prescription so that they can have an easy fix.  So many times that's the wrong thing.  My dentist used to write me a prescription for 40 vicodin if I got a crown or something.  It was fricking hilarious at the time because one or two tylenol woulda been just fine but instead he gave me enough pills to be high day and night for about two weeks.  Doctors do the same thing with antibiotics and anti-depressants.  They never want to tell you to make some change or excercise more or something like that.  They feel like people want the easy way out and that's what they try to give you.

thanks, i am feeling much better.  Going to family dr. this afternoon to have my thyroid checked out to make sure it is still in check.  going to see if i can take the amino acid protocol with taking my synthorid.  It is really hard to find a dr. that believes in the "natural" way, so many just want to put you on anti-deppressants or barbitutes.

First of all congratulations on making it to day five.  For almost all days three and four are the worst and then it's downhill after that.  The best thing for the sleeping is going to be time.  Each day you'll sleep a little more until things are back to normal.

I think talking to a therapist may help a little but while you're going through the wd's it's pretty hard to be in a good mood.  You just have to know that things are  going to be better soon and tough it out.  Watch tv, take a walk if you can get yourself to move do whatever it takes to make the time go by.

I would say not to take any anti-depressants or prescription medications because the wd depression will be gone soon.

There are many suggestions on here as to things you can eat or vitamins or supplements you can take that some people say helped them.  You can look up the Thomas Recipe but I think most people use that when they're beginning wd's and I don't recall if it's stiil helpfull by the fifth day.  A lot of people say that taking hot baths helped them sleep and helped with restless leg stuff.  Also many people say that eating bananas helped with the restless leg.  I guess maybe it's the potassium.  Not sure about that.

Things will be better soon.  Wd's are bit different for everyone but you're at day five which means you're through a lot and have only a few more days to go.  By days 11,12,13,14 almost all are through the physical part.
