I was in the same spot. Do you live alone? Have you told anyone close to you?
Honestly I tried quitting cold turkey on my own and it didn't work because I live alone. After the 3rd day I couldn't take it anymore and would give in. Know that being on this site you are definitely not alone anymore
Welcome friend...you've come to the right place. We are all in this together and ready to help you.You made a major step in admitting that you have a problem. Now is the time to quit...yes,w/d's will be bad.But they are soo worth it!!Not being chained to a bottle for the rest of your life is so liberating.
Where to start...here,for one. There is much to be learned from the health pages as well as posts. We understand what you're going through because we've all been there before. Can you talk to your doctor or find a doctor that specializes in addiction? If so they may be able to minimize your w/d symptoms. The mental part is the tough part but you CAN do it!!!Also finding the closest NA meeting site would be helpful.Aftercare is crucial during recovery.
Stay strong;keep your guard up,and know we're here for you!!Good luck;keep us posted!~Anne
The best thing is to clear your schedule for a week and allow your body to detox. Some have suggested the Thomas recipe to me, you should look into that. You need atleast 7 days though to get your body back to normal
