Still Depressed with Cravings

I posted earlier under the topic, Suboxone Rollercoaster and did not get much of a respones; so I try again.  I will continue with a followup to my original post.  My post in other forums went very long, so any help here would be very welcomed too.

I am back on Suboxone with some but not many physical withdrawals however the Depression is really really bad. I don't know if this is common or not? And the cravings for the drug are Way up Too? My doc has me at 16mg a day and I don't know if I should go up or down, he is leaving most of it to me. I want to feel better, I've read some posts in which people strarted feeling great just after one dose, is that the norm, it doesn't seem possible? Do things usually get better over time, like it gets a little better each day? I guess I do have a lot of questions, but for now that's all I can muster. Thanks for your quick reply...

i have no experience with Sub so cant help you there. But im right there with you on the depressed and CRAVING boat. especially the cravings. THey are way worse now at 7 days than ever I think. My dpression was worst the first time I quit, but i had other issues going on at the time then too which made it worse I guess (was having problems with husband). Now that we have strengthened our relationship, i dont have that issue this time, but i do have some depression which stems directly from missing my drugs. Im getting scared how bad my cravings are becoming again, and i could hardly sleep at all last night. kept thinking about pills and how bad I wanted some.

so sorry I cant help you at all, but know that you are in good (bad?) company here.

my experience with suboxone has led me to believe that in the beginning your dose may need to be higher to combat the cravings which in turn should help the depression for a while...dysphoria is common for the first few weeks off your drug of choice and when you start the suboxone...i have been on sub since may, and went through all of this.  you could also have depression as an underlying condition which may need treatment, you should definitely be discussing this with your sub doc.,
you have to stay on the sub for  longer than a few days to get the full benefit from it...have you made a decision whether you are doing a short term detox or a long term maintenance?
