Okay, now that you have heard what to expect. like a nasty flu, right. you can survive through that. just keep in mind that it IS going to go away and you are going to feel alright.
Once you have the mind set that you CAN handle whatever the withdrawls bring, it will be all the easier.others have done it here and so why not you too? right?
I tappered off pain killers, so it may be different with your DOC. each time i lowered my dose it would take a little time for my body to adjust to it, but it does. then i would drop again and keep up until i was down to nothing. when finally quitting the withdrawls were just about all gone.
You have to conquer this fear and it will all fall into place.
I take 100mg 4 times a day. But I am trying to go down to 250mg,
50mg morning
50mg lunch
50mg dinner
100mg night.
how does that sound?
Honestly dropping down 50mg is very little but the mind is a very powerful thing. Its telling you you should be going into withdrawl because you have not taken as much ...How do you have your doses set up?
slow taper with trams...even 1/2 pill at a time...and have someone hold ur pills for u..fight the depression and fatigue with all ur might..exercise and take the supps...it is 99% mental..if u think u can..THEN U CAN!
forgot to say, I am on tramadol. thanks all for this. I think you will be hearing from me quite a lot. tell me if i am writing to much.

Thomas recipe and a whole lot more info can be found in the Health Pages near the top right of page
ochooked is right. most is mental. in fact, i started freaking out within half hour of my last dose, because i knew there were no more pills. that's when the nastiest 2 day flu began. after 3-4 days you feel better, but use the thomas recipe. it helps. my body ached for a few more days, especially my legs. but the FEAR is the worst. now it's 9 days and felling GREAT. my sleeping patterns are stabilizing. i did have a vivid dream that i was finding pills all over the place. weird. the main thing is just stop and curl ou into a ball and let the w/d's happen, because when it's over your life is back. good luck. fyi: Fear=life without pills
avisg is the tram expert. I just sent her a note. she will be on to help you.
You can do this!
HI Jonny ---- I think the worst part is mental - not physical - and I can see this is really bothering you and playing with your head. What were/are you taking 400 mg of?? Some people can taper successfully and some can not - you may need someone to hold your pills and dispense them to you - - if that is the case, please ask for help - - most can't do it alone. Get as many of the ingredients on the Thomas recipe and Amino Acid protocol as you can - they really help. Also, you may consider going the Suboxone route - many (including me) have done this successfully. I wish you the best - - always remember there is support here - keep posting.
