starting thrusday to taper

I have decided to start to taper down from the oxycodone tomorrow. I hope to get some valium to help with this. I do about 80mgs a day, sometimes more and sometimes less. I have been on them for well over a year. I'm still worried about having a seizure. I would hate to have one walking down the street, with no one to help.

Hi Dove...I also tapered from percs & patches; my taper lasted 3 weeks before I stopped completely.  What is your taper schedule?

Try tapering like this, 20mg every 6 hours for 3 days then 20 mgs every 7 hours...every three days add an hour. Eventually you will be at 20 mg for the day. Then start cutting again.

tapering is a good idea , what is you taper schedule ? Try not to worry to much about having a seizure. It is possible but most of the people that I know that have seizures are coming  off ultram or benzos..... We are here to help.
