Congrats on 14 days!! You sound so much happier in your posts too. Get checked to be sure, but it's probably nothing :) Just stay healthy and it should heal, you have been releasing a lot of toxins the past 2 weeks. I'm at day 27 and I still have some night sweats once in awhile. Have a good night.
Hi everyone, Thanks for the info and advice. I am still hurting. I swear my liver is swollen! I can push right on my side and it really hurts. I think I will make an appointment just to make sure nothing is really wrong. Shoot, a couple of weeks ago I would be heaven to actually have real pain because with pain comes pain meds, right?! Sick thoughts!
Now I am freaked out that I may have done some serious damage!! The good news is after spending a whole day almost reading on the liver it seems that this is repairable..fingers crossed. Well I just made an appointment for this Monday for blood work. Wish me luck and guess what???It is 2 weeks today folks without a single opiate! Yahootie!
First and foremost great job on getting clean and on day 13 of sobriety. Now if you still are having pain and think it's your liver I would def go and get it checked out. I felt totally fine and wasn't having any problems and I went to the doc back in september did some blood test and found out I had abnormal elevated liver enzymes. I was ordered to do a CT scan to see what was going on, I did that and the results turned out to be that I have a fatty liver causing hepatitis. In other words, its the early stages of cirrhosis which will eventually kill you if it gets to that point. This was all brought on by the tylenol abuse in the narcotic painkillers. Boy I tell you tylenol is poison and it does some work on your liver but most of never even realize it because your liver very rarely complains. The extended use over long period of time w/the tylenol will damage your liver and cause inflammation, hence your liver cells become swollen and you get a fatty liver. The upside to all of this is that if caught early enough it is reversible and your liver will heal if you drastically change your living. The downside to all this is that if it evolves to the point of cirrhosis of the liver it is not reversible and you will eventually die. This is a very serious matter and if you are have any doubts I will recommend seeing a doctor. Don't mean to scare anyone but this is the truth and it happens oh so often. Best wishes me friend
I'm not sure what your DOC was but for me I had really bad stomach/side pain for the first two weeks or so of my withdrawals. I know it is uncomfortable but keep drinking lots of fluids and give it a little more time. You are still clearing your body of all the chemicals you put into it and your body IS going to react to that drastic change.
So glad you are sleeping. I am almost 7 months clean and I still have trouble sleeping without sleep aids but I am very reluctant to use them. Keep up the good fight hon. This does get better!
things do get better but it seems they don't , do they ? :) You are sleeping and not all of us were so lucky at day 13 .... about the pain on your right side, i would wait a little bit , don't worry about it for now and if the pain is bearable, ok ? what is going to help you now are exercising and healthy eating ( protein, vegetables) ... they will help you with the energy too... good luck and congrats on your day 13 :)
