will I ever be hungry again after drugs?

Thanks to all of you who responded to me yesterday.  This is a lifesaver.  Today is day 8 off of stadol NS and day 3 off of 2 lortab /day.  I think I am a bit better, but can anyone give me any ideas as to when an appetite will return?  I have lost 7 lbs. and am a skinny woman to begin with.  I have to learn to eat or either I need to buy stock in this Gatorade I am drinking.  By the way, the gym has been my salvation to anyone who may want to try it.  Thanks for any advice.  I am taking B-6 and L-Tyrosine.

A good approach is the "grazing" type of diet.......keep a jar of peanut butter around - a chunk of cheese - some cans of ensure - high protein comfort foods........and eat a tablespoon of peanut butter every 20-30 minutes.....or an ounce of cheese ....or a can of ensure.....cups of chicken noodle soup are valid......stuff like that. You will get past this hump - but you want to be in decent shape nutritionally.....I feel that vitamins and supplements also have their place. Fresh fruit is good - and banana's are an excellent source of potassium......Keep posting with questions and for that support......

Thanks for the comments.  How long did it take for your appetite to come back after detox?  My doctor actually gave me these drugs as no IBS meds would stop constant diarrhea so that I could eat and work.  I GAINED weight on opiates and am afraid I am just back to square one with nothing that will make me want to eat.  Thanks for any advice.

Yes you will get your appetite back.  Give yourself some time to heal.  The weight you have lost will come back and then some.  Stay strong thru this and you will reap the rewards........Congrats on your clean time!!!!!!!!!!!!          sara

Congrats on your clean time. During my use i got so thin, i looked like hell. My appetite did not take long to return though and I slowly started to gain it back. Now i eat about 3500 calories a day, lol. I weigh almost 170, my most ever and it took work to get there .  At one point i was down to 145 llbs and so sickly, but we do heal. Your still early on, so be patient or just go on the McDonald's diet, haha

Oh yes!!  by like 200%.....  I was addicted to lortabs, and really had no appetite or cared to go out to eat...Now i can smell what the neighbor is cooking...lol
I was also very skinny, and many people were afraid that i had aneroxia, but i knew i didn't , I just was never hungry..After detox, my smell came back , and it was wonderfull...The smell of fresh cut grass was even great..Now i hae gained much needed weight, but feel alot more healthy....good luck
