Day 16

This is day 16 CT off 10mg hydrocodone at 3 or 4 a day. How long does it take for your own pain receptors take to kick in?

Yes airley is right..I think it depends on age, health, how long you used, how much you used in a day (mg) and how many drugs you came off of at once. Every drug hits different Transmitter/Chems and receptors.
I have been on here long enough and have been doing a lot of studying. I came to the conclusion that it does take TIME and with TIME comes Patience..BUT You can help rise those chems and such back up by drinking lots of Water, Electrolytes, Diet, vit/min, Amino-Acids play a big role, Exercise, Fresh Air and Sun..Even good ol music helps stimulate the Serotonin and Endorphins..There is a whole lot of wiring that has to balance back in the brain..AND it will heal faster if you do not put in any mind altering drugs..There is a chart that shows all of these that do damage or unbalance the brain. SO Just take a deep breath and go with it and try not to fight it or get impatienced..You will keep turning corners and each corner gets better then the last one..Rock on!!!
Bless

Just do some stretches if you can. Every little bit helps. I know how hard it is when you are limited by physical problems and pain. Just hang in there. There is always hope and I promise you that things do get better.

I can't exercise , my feet. The web said to stay off of them in the acute stage. That's where I am now. I was walking everyday 3 or 4 times a day. That made me feel better mentally but did a number on my feet. I feel like giving up but I'm not

Hey Tooter! Congrats on day 16! Everyone is different when it comes to healing. It can depend on a lot of factors. I suffer from a lot of chronic pain issues and didn't start to see a big improvement in pain until somewhere between my first and second months clean. Now, don't let that discourage you. You will probably heal a little faster than that. Just keep doing what you are doing and keep the faith. Things will get better. Also, proper diet and exercise can sure speed the healing process along. Check out the health pages at the bottom of the page. There's one that talks about foods that increase dopamine naturally. Maybe try some of those out. Keep up the great job and never give up the fight!
