Vicodin addiction - using 5-HTP and GABA for withdrawal

My boyfriend and I are addicted to vicodin. We have been taking it for almost 3 years, taking them only on the weekends. For the past 7 months we have been taking them daily. Around 2-5 per day.

It is time we get off of them and wanted to see if anyone had any luck with taking 5-HTP and GABA? Or if anyone has had any success with herbal products.

Thanks,

Your decision to abondon chemical dependency is the right decision. If it is pain you are running from pain, then vicodin will only hide the symptoms. It is a fake medicine for a real problem. Your mind doesn't know what it needs anymore because your central nervous system is weak and vulnerable to a whole new world of problems. I am weaning off of xanax, and am expirienceing many undesireable side effects. Yesterday I ate a large amount of alkaline foods such as: broccoli (anti-oxidants, vitamins), salmon (for omega 3), lemon/garlic hummus ( lemon is alkaline), dark green leafy vegitables, 5-htp (a natural precursor to serotonin), and melotinine at night. Now that my PH is balanced I feel infanatley better, and capable of conquring all of life's problems. Chemicals are (and never will be) more perfect than nature's design. Good nutrition has worked for centuries, the phrase "better living through chemicals" is ********!!!
