Cause of chest pain

a person is an alcoholic and a drug addict.  if they don't drink or take drugs, they get chest pain.  after taking drugs and drinking, the pain goes away. why?

Hello. Ya, go to the Dr. Like ibizan said, it could be anxiety, and additionally could be a physical problem. Painkillers and alcohol especially will mask pain and other symptoms that are the bodys way of alerting us to problems. Take care, GM

person needs to go to doctor and get this checked out....could be anxiety issues as well in which person is very anxious and doesn't breathe in a relaxed fashion hence tensing up chest muscles.
