I found ppl with GOOD recovery in the rooms of AA and NA!one of the best chapters in the NA big book is chapter 4...Recovery and Relapse!it is a must read!
Hi Angela. I hope you have continued in your sobriety, which would make it around 91 days now. On the brink of 3 months- I think that's just great! I think a support system such as NA or AA is awesome. I was fortunate to find something only a 3 minute drive from my place!
You're right in that relapse is not a pitfall of getting better. We can always look at hiccups as learning experiences. I am fortunate to not have relapsed on this go. I'd say it was about my 4th serious attempt to stop drinking and drugs though. You can never lose those days you made it through clean, even if you go back for months- or in my case- years. Knowing I could make it a month and a half let me know 3 months was possible. I'm hoping you made it as well.
What differences have you noticed in your life/body since being sober this period?
I'll never forget when "the power of choice" actually HIT me!!!!
Congrats on your sobriety.....and if you have the support of AA and your family...you have A LOT.....not to mention a new you!!
I go to therapy. N AA meetings. N my family helps me alot also. Ya honestly havnt even thought bout drinking I'm a way better person this way n than u very much tink means alot
74 days is BIG !!
That's 2 1/2 Months !!
That's 10 1/2 Weeks !!
If You can go 74 days You can go forever. I'm not suggesting that You will never 'want' to drink again but I am saying 74 days is proof that You CAN go without alcohol.
That being said, I know it's not easy, I know it's rough and it's tough and that You have to be strong - but if You CHOOSE recovery, well then, You've already proven to YourSelf that it's achievable.
I'm Very HopeFul For You and I Wish You All the Luck in the World
Nothing like some recovery to ruin a good drunk, is there? From the time I decided to stop opiates, they were never good again. Back on that horse and ride on. What kind of aftercare are you in?
