fiancée's dad is an alcoholic

My fiancée's dad is an alcoholic & is already trying to control the way we raise our baby girl. (I'm 25 wks & 3 days) my fiancée has been abused *mentally* by his father by being lied to & manipulated. How can I get me, my fiancée, & our daughter away from his grasp without having a harsh relationship between fiancée & his father??? I'm scared that his dad is going to jus take over :\

A baby should be a happy time for the 2 of you.  Dont let his dad stand in the way of that.  Hopefully he will get the help he needs and can be the grandpa that every child should have.

Thank you! I knw in my heart that my fiancée will not turn into his dad...he doesn't even drink now. But I hope his dad seeks some help, or jus stays outta our baby's raising.

You and your fiance need to set some ground rules.  There is no way i would want my baby around someone who is actively drinking.  This is your baby and your lives.  There may be some extra strain on their relationship but it sounds like it is already in shambles.  His dad needs to work on himself before he starts trying to tell you 2 what to do.
