Hey, I hope you're still checking this post- I have the same thing, and so does my dad. It started when I was 17 or so. I haven't found a solution, except that if I know I've eaten garlic, I wait a few hours and either go jogging for a few miles or bomb the gym if it's too cold outside. The gym employees probably think I don't shower, and it's super embarrassing, but whatever.
Anyway, I totally feel your pain!! It ***** so hard! I was even sent home from work one time, because I'd eaten something with garlic without realizing it the day before.
Doesn't sound like an allergy. As to the garlic problem -- stop eating it.
Hi Nic,
Are you getting any other symptoms besides the odor? If you aren't, I wouldn't worry. The more garlic you eat, the more you will smell like garlic. Sadly, this is the condition that you sign up for when you eat garlic. I would first try to shower more frequently after you've had garlic and make your hygiene is good. Other than that, just make sure your mom also eats garlic when you do, and she probably won't smell it. If she's the only one noticing it, it might just be her imagination or overactive nose. :)
