I have had 3 pancreatic attacks after getting my gallbladder removed. With every attack I had kiwi. I eliminated it from my diet and havent had it in a yr. I reccently tried 1 small bite and went into another attack. horrible stomach pains that wrapped around my back. it came in waves like contractions and after 2 hrs it disappeared. I did have high levels of AST and ALT I believe i am allergic! Have you found anything out?
I found out almost a year ago that I have 21 different food allergies, most food allergies don't show up with the RAST test, mine were always negative too. It wasn't until I found Sage medical lab (Sagelab.com) that did a different type of blood test that I started getting some answers. You might want to check out their website, interesting stuff!
if you have weight loss and diarhea etc make sure you are worked up for celiac sprue. the labs can be negative and only biopsies of your small bowel will confirm the diagnosis. it is now thought that it occurs is up to 1 in 1000 americans. much more common than previously thought.
I had to do the same thing--elimination diet.
I'm fortunate that my allergist recognizes that not all food sensitivities and allergies show up with the skin tests or RAST tests. Some doctors hold fast stubbornly that if it doesn't show up with their fancy tests that the patient isn't allergic. Not so!
My mother used to try to tell my Gramma that my Gramma didn't know what she was talking about when she said she was allergic to onions and garlic. Oh, yeah? Then, why did Gramma's legs swell up and why did she get mild Tachycardia if she ate at our house? I believed Gramma, but my mother treated her own mother with such a despicable disrespect. Gramma was right, because she had physical symptoms. Just because they couldn't be proven with conventional allergy tests (the only thing my mother would accept) doesn't mean that Gramma's body didn't react to those things. The same is true for me, which is why I believed my Gramma.
Kinesiology works. Haven't used it for allergies, but I know that if someone is skilled with it, it works. Iridology is helpful, too. I used kinesiology years ago. The practitioner I went to was an old man, so he is no longer with us. He was skilled at what he did and knew what he was doing. I didn't find out 'til later that he also practiced Iridology. I wish I had known that years ago. He was such a loving older man.
Yes, I have read it is possible to have food allergy symptoms and still have the tests come out negative. You have a couple of options and one would be to do an elimination diet. Eliminate the suspected foods from your diet for a while, usually a couple of weeks, and then slowly incorporate them back in with very small amounts, one at a time. You will most likely know right away which ones bother you or not. I never had hives either until I stopped eating several suspected foods and tried them again months later. They ended up being very serious allergies too so I have to stay away from many foods too. Just be really careful when doing this!
Another thing you could do is find someone who can do muscle testing, also known as kinesiology. I have found this to be very accurate and it helped me identify my first two known allergens. You might want to do this one first though. I hope this helped!
