Adrenaline Surges - does anyone get these

Hi All ~

Does anyone get what I call "adrenaline surges" or "heart pangs" (for lack of a better word)

It feels like when someone cuts you off in traffic - that heart stop "pang" feeling or like when someone jumps out and scares you....

I guess another description could be like when you are at the top of the roller coaster and about to go down the hill - that feeling.

I get them ALL day long. Are these anxiety?

My heart does NOT race and they do not turn into a full blown panic attack - they just hapen all the time. Like 4x since I have written this post.

Anyone else? Anyone go to the doc for these? Is it anxiety?

And most importantly - HOW DO YOU MAKE THEM STOP?

I get heart palps too and this is different.

Thank you all - your comments and suggestions will really help!~

Thank you for your post. It is SO good to know you are not alone. That help tremendouly.

My last just a few seconds, but they are all day long and relentless.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my post. Your kind words and encouragement really mean a lot.

I have my mantra of " I am healthy and well" - but I like yours!! I like Enya - I will give her a try. She is pretty good.

Thanks again!!

And thank you Aleksander - it is great to know that eventually it WILL go away. Thanks for your time as well.

Wishing you both well

Much happiness!!!

Yes I get these too, for no apparent reason other than stress. I think it is related to anxiety. Sometimes lying down and doing breathing techniques help, other times...you just have to deal with it, I think. It makes you agitated and constantly jumpy, on edge, right? If you are unable to lie down, then make sure you always have some soothing, slow music on your mp3 so you can listen to these whenever you are feeling edgy (apparently Enya helps. recommended by doctors)

Cut down on caffeine and sugar, eat regularly and don't wait till you are hungry. Blood sugar levels could be doing this too. Plenty of rest and distract yourself. That's all I can think of.

And all in all, just keep telling yourself it's OK, it's nothing big, it'll pass.

I find another technique which is quite helpful - keep saying to yourself "this fear is only passing through me" and imagine it flowing out of your feet to the ground. Try this, it might help.

Good luck and don't worry you are not alone :)
