Anxiety & Ringing ears

Hello all,

Ive been away for a few months on and off poking in to say what's up to everyone.

Anyways.. I can say I have good days and bad days with my anxiety. I was good for a while.. few months. As of late.. I've been having issues with my hearing, my hearing isn't impaired at all I can hear perfect fine but I'll get to my issue in a second.

I'll give a bit of a overview so it can help show you where I'm coming from. 2 weeks ago I came down with this really bad headcold type deal. I live in Southern California.. so when the weather changed from Rainy to Sunny 80 / 90's last week it really effected me. Anyways I had that cold for 2 - 4 days and it went away. I had a bid of a residual cold, runny stuffy nose and sinus congestion when I blew my nose it made that squeeky pressure sound, you know what I mean. ( blow nose, weeeeeeeeeeeeeee ) Ha.Ha :)

My question is :

#1 Is ringing in your ear is a symptom of anxiety? I've read too much online to know what is what.. of course worse case scenario is a brain tumor .. bleh.

#2: Can having a head cold in which you had a stuffy nose / congestion effect your hearing in terms of ringing in your ears? When I say ringing I mean not to the point where I hear it when I'm at work or driving since the outside sound drowns it out.

#3: Can listening to an Ipod, or constantly having headphones on while on the computer cause ringing in your ears if your music is too loud and will it subside?

I work in the web design industry so I'm on the computer all day and I do listening to my ipod for music to get me going creatively. I'm really trying to be logical here and not let my anxiety kick my ***. I do listening to music loud and when I go to the gym. I've herd brain tumors can cause ringing in your ears but I don't have blurry vision or vomiting so that cant be it.

I'm just really hoping my anxiety is heighting it and it's from me using headphones / ipod buds and listening to music too loud causing it.

Also can me being so focused on trying to listen to the ringing it will heighten it? Does anyone else get a random ear clogging feeling / ringing in the ear?

I really only hear it when it's perfectly silent like right before bed when I put my head down on the pillow.

I've been to the Doctors and he said everything is perfectly fine with me.. so I'm trying no to bug him with this now.. since I've come to him about a brain tumor, cancer and loads of other ****. Logically, if I was sick I don't think I would be able to play soccer running around for a hour and heading the ball and running at the gym and work out... right? Logically that would be the case.. I'm perfectly fine and it's just anxiety.

Should I be concerned?

I apologize for this long post and I appreciate the time taken to read it if you wish.

cheers!

Thanks for your reply Cave.

Yeah, I had a nasty cold about 2 weeks ago. It's gone now but perhaps that's causing the issue as well as my music that's too loud.

I've taken a break from all headphones trying to relax a bit. I don't have any symptoms.. like vomiting nausia, blurry vision or head aches. I know it's anxiety because I've gone from one extreme to another.. GAW.

I just wanted to get some solid feed back knowing I'm not the only one who has ringing ears.

Yeah headcold, sinus congestion and all that cold stuff can cause ringing in the ears. I have quite the issue with my sinuses, and I randomly get ringing in my ears. I think it has something to do with the stuff that get left behind in our sinus cavities. Anyway I think your fine and you probably are listening to your music to loud. Good Luck.

I forgot to mention I do listen to my music loud and I listen to electronic music.. trance, electro which has pretty repetitive beats.. so I'm think it's ear fatigue.. and I'm stressing over it so much it's making it worse...

cheers!
