Wow! So awesome! There is absolutely a correlation to exercise and decreasing anxiety and even depression. Regulation of our body's nervous system can happen through exercise. We all know you release 'happy chemicals' when you exercise but you also increase your dopamine when you accomplish something (like saying you want to exercise and you actually do it). Cortisol is also impacted and that is our stress hormone. We have less. This is a 'good' thing. You release muscle tension. You are essentially also engaging in deep breathing when exercising which helps relax our amygdala. Neuro pathways become stronger. We think better and cognition improves with exercise because of this. It helps our sleep which helps our anxiety lesson as well. There is a ton of science to support what you are experiencing and I'm happy for you! What exercise are you engaging in?
